Crime Map UK - How to use?

How to Use the App

Your Current Location

If you grant location permissions, the app will automatically display crime data around your current location on the map.

Dragging the Map

Move the map with your fingers to see crime data in a new location. The data will refresh automatically when the search radius (red circle) moves.

Address Lookup

Type a postcode, full address, or partial address into the search bar. Select from the suggested results to display data for that location.

Crime Categories

• By default, all crime categories are selected.

• Use the filter bar at the bottom of the screen to select specific categories (e.g., bicycle theft, burglary).

• If no crimes of the selected type were reported in the last two months, a “No data available” message will appear.

• If the data falls just outside the current map view, the app will auto-zoom to the nearest crime location.

Crime Locations

Police UK provides approximate crime locations. These may not correspond to specific buildings or properties. For example:

• A crime might be labelled as occurring “On or near Some Street.”

• The app displays this data as provided by Police UK without modifications.

If you believe a crime is incorrectly associated with your property, please contact Police UK directly. The app developers cannot assist with data corrections as we do not maintain the database. Visit the Police UK website for contact details.
